exhibition "Award-winning architecture: 125 years of architecture awards"

“An award-winning architecture: 125 years of architecture awards” reviews the history of the FAD Awards and their antecedents since the end of the 19th century. A look at the works that have transformed Barcelona and the country, with photographs, documents and audiovisuals that explain the evolution of our architecture. The FAD Awards for Architecture and Interior Design, created in 1958, are the architecture awards with the longest history in Europe and a benchmark for the country’s architectural culture. For 67 editions and in an uninterrupted manner, independent juries have recognized those works that have contributed to transforming the environment, the city and the landscape. The awards began by distinguishing works built in the city of Barcelona, an area that was later extended to the metropolitan area (1978), to the entire Catalan territory (1987) and, finally, to the Iberian Peninsula (since 1996).
