Activity aimed at 4th grade students from neighborhood schools
With the collaboration of Blues Society of Barcelona
Sweet Marta & The Blues Shakers will present an educational concert in which, in addition to explaining in a simple and entertaining way what the blues is and how it became the form of expression of the African American people, they will focus on the implications with the life of slavery, as well as the means to escape from the pains of everyday life. There will also be an emphasis on the lives of women who sang and played the blues to enjoy better living conditions, while fighting racism and dominant masculinity, with anecdotes from the lives of blues musicians.
