The Moving Identities project closes 3 years of exchange and international residencies with a symposium in Copenhagen

This week, part of the Nau Ivanow team traveled to Copenhagen to be part of the closing symposium of the project Moving Identities.

The host of the Days, UP – The Development Platformwas the residence space that visited us four years ago now to propose starting, together with other European residence spaces, this international exchange project, with the support of Creative Europe.

Within the framework of Moving Identities, for three years we open calls to 6 different countrieswe have welcomed to more than 30 artists at Nau Ivanow and we have offered mentoring and various trainings to speak of identity, inclusion and sustainability.

The companies that have represented the Nau Ivanow in the project during these years have been Caravan of Centáurides, Las Sistahs and M0nsterL4band precisely with Arid Soldevila (representing Caravana) i Denise Duncan (of Las Sistahs) we attended the symposium Moving Perspectives. It was a two-day Conference where the rest of the creative spaces and advisory bodies linked to the project also took part, as well as artists from all the participating countries and other performing arts professionals who wanted to join.

There have been art exhibitions, conferences, round tables and working groups to reflect on everything that has crossed us throughout the project, both at the institutions and at the artists. We debated about the European identity, lessons learned and gaps in inclusion and sustainabilityas well as the care, support in residence and internationalization.

During the project we made mistakes, we learned a lot and we shared countless interesting reflections with the artists and institutions that have accompanied us over the years. From Nau Ivanow, we can say that the project and the professionals who have been part of it have taught us a transform the spaces, the mind, the calls and the dynamics. We still have a lot to learn and improve, which is why we continue to participate in spaces for reflection and exchange in international contexts that bring us new views and perspectives.
