The companies Lalínea and Segunda Juventud have been selected to be residents of Nau Ivanow in 2025
The companies Line i Second Youth have been selected by the 2025 call to be residents of Nau Ivanow for the next 4 years. The call published in the month of October 2024 received a total of 65 nominations and it is the front door which guarantees access to a program support, research and professional growth to two new performing arts companies each year.
During this time, a work plan is proposed that includes several services that propel the company towards the professional sector. The services offered, among others, are: paid residencies locally, nationally and internationallyboth research/creation and thinking and professional development; artistic and management mentorships with professionals who accompany and advise the resident artists; formations ad hoc or existing ones financed from the Nau Ivanow; surveys at Fairs, Festivals and cultural events relevant that make companies visible and the possibility of being linked to them mediation activities carried out by Nau with the territory and the educational community.
Line he orients his stage research towards a theatricality that links the performative act with the ritual and sensory experience, opening new paths of communication between the artist and the public. Through concepts such as biodrama, theatrical anthropology and the document theaterthey explore reality as raw material for creation, in an attempt to dissect and reinterpret the contemporary world.
Second Youth is a practical and theoretical research project that explores the aesthetic construction linked to the political, poetic and philosophical. He uses staging and performativity as tools to create fictions and question the mechanisms that make up reality.
Accèssit Colectivo Artístico La Estampida
This year the jury has decided to give access to La Estampida Artistic Collectivewith which he wants to accompany the project for a year so that it can develop the first phase of its research, taking advantage of some of the resources that Nau Ivanow offers in its program of resident companies.
The work of La Estampida Artistic Collective it focuses on creating scenic spaces where costumes function as an active agent of dramaturgy, exploring materiality and visuality as narrative engines of the construction of meaning. Through collaborative and experimental creative processes, they seek to imagine and build a post-anthropocentric scene, in which the centrality of the human being is questioned as the measure of all things, protagonist and hero of our creations.
In this edition, the jury of the call has been formed by Mikolaj Bielski (artistic director of Réplika Teatro), Carolina Campos (independent artist and researcher), Helena Febres (producer), Andrea Pellejero Corral (Monte Isla and Las Huecas), Ariadna Rodríguez and Iñaki Álvarez (Nyamnyam space and company) i Arid Soldevila (performer and creator).
The selected companies will start the stage as residents from this January 2025 and will be added to the ecosystem of 7 companies which are already part of the Ivanov Ship: Monte Isla, Ça marche, Nina Orsini, Urati laboratory, AMAGA, Llum de Fideu and P0RN0T0PIA Collective.
During the last 5 years, the Nau Ivanow has intended more than 415,000 euros for company accommodation and accommodation. In the 13 years that Nau Ivanow has been carrying out the support and accompaniment program for young companies (previously called Beca DespertaLab), almost 40 Catalan companies have benefited from the program, more than twenty of these have made stays and have been present at different festivals and residence spaces or international bodiesand many of them today are reference companies in the Catalan theater scene.
