Do you know what rare diseases are? It is estimated that there are more than seven thousand and, despite being uncommon in the population, it is not unusual to suffer from one. In this talk, we want to give visibility to a reality that affects around three million people in Spain. We will talk about the origin of these diseases, many of them genetic, and we will see some concrete examples that will serve us to comment on the current challenges in terms of diagnosis and treatment.
