exhibition "From Miró to Solano"

In the framework of Barcelona World Capital of Architecture, the College of Architects of Catalonia (COAC), through the Open Center of Architecture, presents the exhibition “From Miró to Solano. 60 years of exhibitions at the COAC”, conceived as a historical tour that highlights the role of the COAC as an active cultural agent and committed to the contemporary debate. The exhibition combines a documentary exhibition in the Altell and an artistic installation in the Agora space and outside. The documentary exhibition, which starts with the exhibition Miró otro (1969) and ends with the installation Runa (2026) by Susana Solano, proposes a retrospective look at sixty years of exhibitions at the COAC understood as cultural actions capable of influencing their time. The exhibition dedicated to Joan Miró, conceived as a critical response to the official exhibition of the Franco regime, demystified the figure of the artist through a radical and ephemeral gesture: a mural made on the stained glass windows of the COAC that Miró himself destroyed at the end of the exhibition, in an act of clear counterculture. You can consult more information about the exhibition “From Miró to Solano” on the website of the Open Center of Architecture. Last update: 11/06/2026
