The Center for Genomic Regulation (CRG) and the Naked Space Artistic Collective present “Seeing: An eye and a box“, One Experimental exhibition, free and accessible that fuses theimmersive art and the scientific dissemination to explore science through a multisensory experience.

Guided tours with prior registration.

The exhibition has been designed to submit Ecaboxa project coordinated by Pia Cosma, from the Center for Genomic Regulation (CRG), which aims to accelerate eye clinical research with an innovative idea: the creation of a device that resurrects donor eyes and keeps them alive outside the human body.

This is a immersive experience that includes inflatable installations, auditory items and holograms. Visitors will enter a journey designed to reconsider what it means to “see” and to show sensory how we perceive the world through light and darkness. They will also reflect on the limits of vision and the importance of conscious observation, as well as the key role of basic research in the development of therapies to treat visual disabilities.

Dialogue “When science and art look”

Science and art, when they look, are able to observe reality in complementary ways, but from common places: both are based on curiosity, creativity and critical thinking. This dialogue will explore the eyes of a scientist, an artist and an engineer in 3D technology in the approach to scientific challenges and their conceptualization in an artistic installation. At the crossroads of these eyes are sources of inspiration for the generation of new questions and new languages of connection with the public.

Dialogue provided by:
Eimear Byrne, CRG researcher and head of the ECABOX project
Paula Ferrés, designer at Nakedspace
Diego Gutiérrez, industrial design engineer specializing in additive manufacturing

Moderated by:
Omar Jamshed, head of press at the CRG
