The Ramon Llull Institute (IRL) is organizing three linguistic and cultural training sessions this summer aimed at students of Catalan from the Llull Network of universities abroad. The initiatives—theSummer linguistic stay in Valenciathe Catalan language university campus and theSummer linguistic stay in the Balearic Islands— will gather a total of 90 students from 22 countries with the aim of strengthening their language skills, deepening their knowledge of Catalan culture and creating lasting bonds between the participants.
These stays are an added value offered by the IRL to Catalan students around the world and one of the main tools for loyalty and international projection of Catalan studies. Through language courses, workshops, conferences, visits and cultural activities, students can experience a complete linguistic and cultural immersion in the Catalan-speaking territories and become future prescribers of the Catalan language and culture around the world.
In 2026, the Catalan Language University Campus will reach its 25th edition. The result of the collaboration between the Government of Andorra and the IRL, the Campus has been offering a unique linguistic and cultural immersion experience between Catalonia and Andorra for two and a half decades.
Throughout this period, more than 700 students from more than 40 countries they have participated, sharing an experience that combines academic training, living together and discovering the territory. Each year, the program receives nearly 90 applications for 30 spots, making it the most in-demand residency.
The impact of the Campus goes beyond language learning. Several former participants have developed careers linked to Catalan studies. During these years, the Campus has also had the participation of outstanding personalities from the cultural and academic world.
- Summer linguistic stay in Valencia
From July 5 to 18, 2026, 30 students from the Llull Network from 15 countries from all over the world will participate in this stay organized with the collaboration of the University of Valencia. Participants will take B1 and B2 level studies and take part in activities aimed at discovering the historical, artistic and social heritage of the city.
The classes will be complemented with workshops and sessions dedicated to Valencian culture, as well as guided visits that will encourage the real practice of the language in everyday contexts.
- Catalan language university campus
From July 19 to August 2, 2026, 30 students from 12 countries will participate in this special edition of the Campus. The stay will combine A2 and B1 level courses at the University of Girona with cultural activities in Girona, the Costa Brava and Andorra.
The aim is to offer a comprehensive experience that allows participants to get to know first-hand the social, cultural and linguistic reality of Catalonia and Andorra while living fully in Catalan.
- Summer linguistic stay in the Balearic Islands
The third proposal will take place from August 30 to September 11, 2026 in Mallorca. With the participation of 30 students from 13 countriesthe stay will offer B1 and B2 level courses at the University of the Balearic Islands.
The program includes cultural activities and guided tours to discover the historical, artistic and social heritage of Mallorca and delve deeper into the linguistic and cultural reality of the Balearic Islands.
