Filming the roots: a dialogue about living memory
July 1 · 11:00 a.m. · Pati Limona Civic Center

How can we capture the passage of time in our parents and grandparents without falling into clichés? Four directors linked to the festival, Josephine Landertinger, Marta Romero, Zeltia Outeiriño and Jana Montllor, will talk about the challenge of filming old age within one’s own family and of constructing stories that preserve living memory.

After the two sessions there will be a networking and aperitif space in the centre’s courtyard.

Free session with prior reservation.

The BIG screen! is the Barcelona International Film Festival for Seniors.

The BIG screen offers new perspectives on being and growing older. It is a space dedicated to the intergenerational film meeting, which serves to enjoy art and cinema, but also to understand that there are very different ways of aging.

The main objective is to dismantle the stereotypes that exist in society about the elderly and to promote aging with meaning, through the reflection and debate that the seventh art inspires.

Beyond showing films, it wants to give visibility and create new discourses on aging, since we understand cinema as a tool for social transformation.
