Open rehearsal of the Castellers of the Sagrada Família (DASC 2026)

The Castellers de la Sagrada Família rehearsal is much more than practicing castles: it is a space for community, coordination and shared emotion. During the rehearsal, people of all ages and experiences gather to prepare the human constructions that will later be seen in the square. The activity begins with warm-ups and physical exercises to work on strength, balance and confidence among the gang members. Next, different castle structures are practiced: from the pinna (the base that gives stability and security) to the upper floors, where the castellars rehearse precise and synchronized movements. The atmosphere is intense but at the same time close and familiar. You can hear the instructions of the gang leaders, the cheers of the colleagues and the sound of the traditional music of grallas setting the rhythm of the rehearsal. Each attempt requires concentration, collective effort and absolute trust in the team. The rehearsals are also a social and cultural meeting point: many people participate not only to make castles, but also to be part of a Catalan tradition based on values such as cooperation, inclusion and joint overcoming. It is common to see new members learning from the more veterans, creating an open and welcoming atmosphere. Activity included in the programming of Cultural Association Day (DASC).
