The Casal de Barri Diagonal Mar in Barcelona will host “Facetes de dona”, one of the most intimate and necessary pictorial proposals of the local scene, a solo exhibition by Elena Pokasanieva. The exhibition offers a visual and emotional journey through the multiple realities, cultures and moods that shape the global female experience, with portraits ranging from frontal views of serene strength to costumed and intimate scenes, using color to evoke cultural heritage, motherhood, knowledge and resilience. Despite her international origins, Pokasanieva has lived in Barcelona for over 35 years and considers herself fully Catalan, a root that permeates her work. In “Facetes de dona”, the artist avoids stereotypes and captures the dignity of each subject – as in La Tendresa – through an expressive brushwork rich in texture. The exhibition thus becomes an opportunity to discover the work of a local artist with a special sensitivity to capture human psychology, and a pictorial tribute to the diversity and infinite mosaic that makes up female identity.
