Nil Martín’s labyrinthine cartoonist winning project of the Odysseus Aeolia 2025

“The cartoonist of labyrinths“Of Nil Martíndirection of Júlia Valdivielsohas been the winning project of the Scholarship Odysseus Aeolia 2025.

The project will receive financial aid to the creation of € 5,000 (taxes included), artistic residence to the Spaces of Eolia Creationaccompaniment and artistic and coordination monitoring, technical residence in the Aeolia Theater and premiere and exhibition during theApril 2026 at the Aeolian Theater.

“The Master’s cartoonist” deals with the passage of childhood to adulthood based on the memory of an obsessed child in the world of labyrinths. The labyrinth as a metaphor for human curiosity but also as a loss of direction or meaning in life. Get lost in finding something or losing itself as a purpose in itself.

Today I decided to return to the Labyrinth of Horta, where I had been a child so many times. You will accompany me, and you will travel with me to the depths of my – and your – brain; of mine – and of yours – fears; of mine – and also, of yours – hopes. Along the way we will find mythological beings, childhood dreams and legends of pop, such as a man-laberint, the Greek minotaur, Ariadna and his thread, or even Doraemon, the most famous cosmic cat of all time.
