
Round table ‘Miquel Cardona, Qelus: Memory drawn’ / Activities / visit us / Start
Next Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at 6 pm, the round table “Miquel Cardona, Qelus: Memory drawn” will take place in the Charity Room of the Library of Catalonia.
Albert Domènech, art historian, disseminator, researcher and columnist will participate; Jordi Artigas, cartoonist, graphic designer and historian, specializing in animation and drawing cinema, and Jaume Capdevila, Kap, humorous cartoonist and cartoonist, who will be a moderator.
The speakers will address the various facets of the life and work of Miquel Cardona (Barcelona 1903 – Caracas, 1964), cartoonist, screenwriter, graphic humorist and poster artist. Known by the pseudonym of Quelus, in the 1930’s he was one of the most prolific cartoonists in the TBO and collaborated in almost all Catalan publications of the time. After the Civil War, he went into exile in Paris and Venezuela, where he became a prominent folklorist.
This round table opens the exhibition “Miquel Cardona, Qelus: Barcelona – Paris – Caracas”, which can be visited in the Zero Space of the Library of Catalonia until September 2.
