Fight consumerism with responsible choices


As every year (for a decade now!) Plaça Catalunya in Barcelona hosts from December 19 to 29 the Fair of Responsible Consumption and Social and Solidarity Economy. An event that has already become the focus of more sustainable consumption alternatives on dates marked by marketing pressure and the wildest consumerism.

This year, around sixty companies and organizations are participating that will offer craft products, clothing and other textile accessories, culture, books, packaged food, cosmetics, toys and other small gift products. There will also be awareness-raising activities for family audiences and specialist information spaces on responsible consumption and the Social and Solidarity Economy.

The Fair maintains the objective ofbringing the values ​​of the ESS closer to the public general in a period of special consumption, taking the opportunity to make visible those forms of acquisition of goods and services of a transformative nature. In Barcelona there are many organizations and, luckily, more and more, that offer products, services and activities that respond to the daily needs of people, companies and organizations throughout the year.

In addition, taking advantage of the opportunity of the change of year, the Opcions cooperative has launched the campaign ‘One month, one change! #TensOpciones’. The goal is to help promote everyday changes in the consumption of goods and services that bring us closer to leading a more sustainable life. Options sets us the challenge of taking on a change every month during the year 2025 to be able to become aware and value the effort we make and the result obtained. To join the challenge they propose you just have to fill out the form and every month you will receive information, advice, downloadable resources and suggestions for consumption.
