17/07 – 21.30 h. Screen Barcelona Summer: Norberta
Synopsis:
Norberto (Luis Bermejo) and María (Adriana Ozores) are a couple from a popular neighborhood who survive as best they can by committing robberies for charity. But this balance is broken when he discovers, through the clothes he uses to avoid being recognized, that he feels more comfortable living as a woman. The revelation shakes the couple and the family environment, and forces them to review roles, affections and fears, while the new Norberta tries to reconcile with an identity she had always kept hidden.
Sonia Escolano and Belén López Albert play with the codes of traditional comedy to address gender identity and the life of the working class without falling into melodrama. With a light tone that does not fall into banality, the film combines picaresque and emotion, sustained by an immense Luis Bermejo and an Adriana Ozores in a state of grace. The proposal stands out for its humanism and for approaching a complex subject to the general public in a natural way.
