Evening of Opera | Gencat Cultural Agenda

The soprano Rocío Martínez and the tenor Francisco Fernándezaccompanied by piano for Soojeong Joooffer a recital that covers some of the most emblematic pages of the opera. With voices of great expressiveness, musical sensitivity and careful stage complicity, this proposal invites you to enjoy the intensity, emotion and beauty of the great lyrical tradition.

Rocío Martínez is a soprano with a solid career in the operatic and concert fields, recognized for her interpretative sensitivity and the warmth of her timbre. Next to him, the tenor Francisco Fernández Rueda stands out for his versatility and expressiveness, qualities that have led him to successfully tackle various roles in the lyrical repertoire. The trio is completed by pianist and repertorist Soojeong Joo, specialist in vocal accompaniment and regular collaborator of singers in the operatic field, providing the balance and complicity essential for this type of training.

Throughout the concert, the public will be able to enjoy pages full of lyricism, passion, humor and emotionwith unforgettable melodies that are part of the European and Hispanic musical heritage. The great love duets, the most brilliant arias and the most endearing moments of opera and zarzuela will meet in an evening designed to celebrate the beauty of the human voice and the power of music to tell universal stories.

Cycle “Between the ropes”

The strings that vibrate, the voices that excite and the closeness that transforms each note into a unique experience. Thus was born “Entre cordes”, a new cycle that will bring together chamber music and lyrical proposals in three evenings full of sensitivity. From the Zorrilla Theater to the Margarida Xirgu Theater, artists and the public will share the stage to live an intimate and unique musical experience.

Entre cordes also establishes a special link with the legacy of the Conservatorio de Badalona for more than 45 years. Some of the artists participating in this cycle have grown musically in their classrooms, highlighting the educational work and the cultural footprint that the center has left throughout its history.
