By Rosina Herrera Garridocurator of Paper and Art History and curator of Photographs
A few days after the DANA that punished Valencia on October 29, 2024, the project was born Save the photosan initiative aimed at recovering and safeguarding family photographs affected by the floods.
In this #fototertúlia it is they will present the methods of action and response carried out in the campaign laboratories installed in the most affected areas. The protocol applied to store, inventory, dry, wash, smooth, stabilize and digitize photographic works will be explained, as well as the action guidelines in case of emergency: what to do—and what to avoid—in situations of this type. It is aimed at restorers, photographers, archivists, librarians, historians, collection managers and all people interested in acquiring practical tools to protect and recover photographic materials in critical contexts.
