Young talent is on the move, the RBLS festival is back
The RBLS Youth Theater Festival has presented its 9th edition, which will be held from November 3 to 21, 2025. Created in 2017 and defined as a feminist, LGTBIQ+ and anti-racist festival, the project reaffirms its desire to place young people at the center of the cultural debate and recognizes the performing arts as a tool for social transformation.

This year, the festival takes another step in its territorial vocation. Programming extends to 12 Catalan municipalities and incorporates three new headquarters —L’Ametlla del Vallès, Montcada and Reixac and Cornellà—, consolidating a decentralized model that facilitates the circulation of shows and the creation of deep-rooted cultural communities.
“This year we wanted to take another step in the idea of network and territory: RBLS is no longer just a festival, it is a community that grows from the roots and puts young people at the center of creation and cultural conversation”, he pointed out Carmen Tierzdirector of the festival. “We are twelve cities with a clear conviction that there is more and more interest in programs and shows that can connect with the young public”.
Views on identity, memory and mental health
The 2025 edition articulates a program that addresses identity and gender, mental health, consent, historical memory, anti-Francoism and institutional racism, with a clear commitment to hybrid formats that combine documentary theatre, self-fiction, dance, music and immersive devices.
The inauguration will take place on November 3 in La Villarroel with Hermaphrodites on horseback or the rebellion of desireand on November 4 the same space will host Lady dictatorship. On November 8, also in La Villarroel, beasts —directed by Pau Roca and interpreted by Marta Marco— will address the hypersexualization of childhood, and you can see it the next day The exceptional things.
