Break the silence of the reality of mental illness in adolescence.

Joan Lluís Bozzo directs a theater-document show on mental health.

From family scenes from real experiences the work deals with the harsh reality of the mental illness in adolescence. The show is followed by a colloquium-forum driven by professionals fromIta Mental Health.

Two mothers and two teenage daughters relate their experiences in the field of mental health in the first person as Daughters suffer from depression and eating disorder for different causes.

The perspective of the two generations addresses topics such as bullying, sexual abuse, social media use, self -image, self -harm, suicide and how mental health problems affect the whole family.

Together they embark on a cathartic and crude journey where does not make up or romantize mental healthbut a message of hope is transmitted and, above all, the importance of asking for help.

You can be you, I can be me It is a theatrical proposal that is structured from scenes that have been extracted from the experience experienced by a group of people who have suffered in their family or in their own person the harsh reality of mental illnesses in adolescence.

It is a work that is not intended to be a play of fiction or a show to use but a theater-documentary In order to make viewers reflect on the need to break the wall of silence that too often isolates and surrounds people with mental illness. We want to give them a voice to their family environments that feel helpless and incompresses in the face of the few resources that public institutions offer to solve this growing problem.

The function is followed by a forum led by professionals of Ita Mental Health and the psychologist Núria Reig In order for the people who wish to comment on the doubts and problems that the theme of the scenes has aroused.

The purpose that Running theater It is proposed with this function is to stimulate and stir people and institutions for the prevention and healing of mental disorders that increase in our country each year and normalize these diseases by fighting the stigmatization and marginalization that often lead to.
