Quantum mechanics, as mysterious as it may seem, is present in our everyday lives: from mobile phone chips to lasers. In this talk we will discover its fascinating laws, from overlapping to entanglement. After that, we’ll talk about how scientists have taken this technology to the next level: controlling atoms and particles with great precision to build quantum computers. I will explain the basics of these devices and what they are capable of doing, such as simulating nature or breaking the encryption of electronic messages.
