Last Thursday, September 4 we opened With its own lightthe new large -format installation promoted by the Gent Gent del Neighborhood Artistic Mediation Program. Through the portraits of 13 villagers, the photographer Gustavo Germano explores the theme of unwanted loneliness. However, the author does not limit himself to the individual experiences of the protagonists, but also delves into the reverse of his stories: in the relationships that have allowed to alleviate these adverse situations. Ultimately what Germano gets is to show how Living in a neighborhood, in community, can save from loneliness.

The inauguration was held as part of the Festa Major del Poblenou. The Neighborhood Association, the Pere Mitjans Foundation and the Moral and Cultural Center, as well as the family, friends and acquaintances of the protagonists, attended. The event was attended by Roell, Laura and Josep Maria, three of the neighbors portrayed in the exhibition. Sergi Estebanell closed the day with a community artistic dynamic.

The Gent del Barri program is an initiative of community art mediation that seeks to foster cohesion and cultural rights in Poblenou. It promotes artistic proposals that encourage the cultural participation of the neighbors and, in short, help to create a culture of the neighborhood and the neighborhood. With this program, the Carulla Foundation wants to show that, When the person stands at the center, culture becomes a true engine of transformation.
