We publish the 2023-2024 Ateneo report

A few days before the end of the year 2024, we want to openly share the memory of Coòpolis activities: a document that comprehensively summarizes the challenges undertaken and the results obtained by the Ateneo in all its areas and tasks. This is a document that we work on with the aim of being transparent and transferring knowledge to all citizens.

We are proud of the results obtained and this allows us to face the new three-year term of the Ateneo with enthusiasm, but also with respect, aware that the new political and social scenarios bring changes and it will be it is essential that the cooperative fabric remains strong to face possible obstacles.

From this last year we want to highlight some elements:

– The project growthespecially in sectors such as education, culture and information technology. We are still missing productive projects strictly unrelated to the service sector.
– The people who approach the Ateneo for its training offer are increasingly demanding deeper knowledge to improve their own and collective capacities and thus strengthen their cooperative projects.
– Over time we are also getting tools for measure community impact that have promoted initiatives, and in general, this is very positive, especially those linked to social inclusion, job creation and sustainable development.
– This year, we can affirm that the strategic relationships with the public sector as well as with the cooperative sector have been strengthened and consolidated, which allows us to walk safely in the coming years.
– We have modernized! Each time we incorporate more and better technology management tools that allow us to be more efficient in the processes and devote more effort to the more qualitative and human aspects of the project.

This 2024 we close the first three-year period (2021-2024) of the call for universities promoted by the Generalitat. Working for three years has allowed us and will allow us in the future, to be able to grasp more globally the growth and consolidation of the services we provide. This year, it should be noted that the commissioning of the equipment at Bloc4BCN has allowed increase by 3% the accompaniments generated and in one 8% for accompanying hourscompared to past editions.It is also worth noting the increase in number and quality of the incubation service that this year, from March 4, 2024, has 30 incubated projects, between creation and consolidation (between 0 and 6 years) and 130 people participate.

With regard to the number of placements achieved this year, we want to share the figure of 81 job placements as a result of support, training, awareness-raising actions, territorial revitalization and inter-cooperation. These insertions have taken place in 35 different cooperatives and other ESS entities. 55.56% of the insertions have been by womena fact that reinforces that cooperatives offer workplaces that respond in a broad and comprehensive way to systemic situations that women find themselves in the workplace.

In this report we also highlight the impulse i consolidation of the Observatory of Coòpolis. This area acts as a space for research and documentation to study the development, impacts and challenges of cooperativism and SSE in the city of Barcelona. Among its transversal objectives is the generation of tools for conceptualisation, knowledge and evaluation, and the construction of quantitative and qualitative indicators based on the research of emerging socio-economic practices and strategic lines.

From the area of ​​education, the vision of fostering is maintained training and continuous education not only linked to the academic field. With this dynamic, what we are pursuing is that the people who are part of cooperative projects can advance in their professional and personal development linked to the cooperative, thus strengthening the collective bond.

We cannot leave out of this summary the moved to the new Bloc4BCN municipal facility which will be a shock for the entities of the Social and Solidarity Economy of the City. The long-awaited new headquarters opened its doors in February and at the end of the year we can say that it is practically working at 90%. In any case, from Coòpolis the change is valued very positively both for the improvement in the quality of care and services as in improving the conditions of the people who work daily to energize the Athenaeum.

Coòpolis is a device for economic dynamism and social transformation, managed by various ESS entities. The financing of the project is supported by calls for public subsidies and agreements with the administration. All figures are public and can be consulted by any citizen. It is our obligation, but also our will, ensure absolute transparency and for this reason every year we commit ourselves to the publication of the report of activities in which the results obtained are reflected and an honest assessment is made of the challenges achieved and the objectives to be reviewed.
