We open the extraordinary call for scholarships Barcelona Crea-Fábriques de Creació 2025

The Barcelona Scholarships Crea – Factories of Creation are an initiative of the Network of Creation Factories, with the support of the Institute of Culture of Barcelona, ​​to give Support for lines of research in the artistic sector.

These grants want to contribute to maintaining the cultural and scientific promotion of the city, offering resources to develop research and artistic innovation processes.

This year from the ship we have opened Two modalities within the scholarships: research and mediation.

Modality 1 – Research

This call, in his Modality 1 – Researchit is based on the recognition that the cultural system is not neutral: the seemingly equal open calls often reproduce power structures that favor certain bodies, trajectories and ways of doing so, while they leave others systematically outside.

For that, We opt for a call exclusively for people who identify with gender, class, ethnic-racial and/or religious dissent experiences, as well as people who are part of the CRIP and/or LGTBIQ+groups. This decision is inscribed in a Framework of positive discrimination or affirmative actionand responds to a political will to redistribute resources and recognition to those who have historically been excluded from the institutional circuits of the performing arts.

It is not a requirement that the theme of the projects to be developed is linked to these experiences/groups, nor that the artistic/research work is linked to an identity narrative, but can embrace any interest in the performing arts sector. What you want is to open A space where these voices can exist without having to be justified, explained or translated constantly to fit into the dominant frameworks of representation.

We also understand that the relationship with these groups/dissent can be complex, located and non -linear. For this reason, what is requested from people who want to apply for the scholarship is to explain in an open way and in their own words their bonding or how these experiences and/or collective are located.

• This modality maintains projects of any subject from a stage of thought, research, conceptualization, writing, meeting, action, experimentation, reflection and registration. That is, they must be In the development phase of the artistic proposal, prior to production.

Modality 2 – Mediation

• The projects to be developed must have a marked Research character on mediation and directed and linked to the live arts sector.
• They need to be found and proposed in a Stage of thought, research, conceptualization, writing, meeting, experimentation, reflection or registration.
• Those research projects will be evaluated in relation to the Links that can be established between a creation center and the communities that surround it (Educational, scientific, citizen …)

Apart from these two modalities open to the entire sector, from the ship We open a third exclusive scholarship for the companies that are part of the four -year program of accompaniment and residences of Nau Ivanow in the modalities of thought and archive and research and research of new.
