Voice and piano concert, with works by Wagner, Mahler and Gerhard / Activities / Visit us / Home

Next Thursday, November 28, 2024, at 8:30 p.m., a concert by Àngels Busquets, mezzo-soprano, will take place in the Sala de Llevant of the Biblioteca de Catalunya; Marta Juncadella, contralto, and Josep M. Gironell, piano.

The concert will begin with the Wesendoncklieder by R. Wagner, five love songs about the poems that Matilde Wesendonck wrote between 1857 and 1858.

In the second part, they will interpret the Kindertortenlieder by G. Mahler, composed between 1901 and 1904 on texts by F. Rückert. And finally Two notesby R. Gerhard, the first piano work of this composer, written between 1921 and 1922.
