A House with 3 Eyes is a multidisciplinary installation that explores the idea of the gaze as a living, sensitive and relational space. The house here becomes a symbolic body, a place where three ways of seeing coexist: the physical eye, the emotional eye and the third eye, that of the soul, the one that perceives beyond the visible.
The exhibition brings together audiovisual and sculptural pieces that dialogue between light, matter and presence. Images are projected, dissolved or embodied on translucent surfaces, bringing forth an expanded perception of the body and space.
This exhibition continues a line of research on the gaze as an act of connection, between the inside and the outside, the self and the other, the visible and the invisible.
Mar Villeyra (2000, Menorca) is a multidisciplinary artist and art curator. He defines his practice as the articulation and manipulation of visual and non-visual materials, all the while giving them a new form of expression. He works through digital and analogue photography, the printed image, video installations and experimental writing. He also works with other analog materials such as fax or engraving to transform the image and experiment with the results provided by obsolete machines. Its artistic premise is based on the idea of transforming digital immateriality into tangible, sensitive results that pass through the body.
The artistic process leads her to configure new narratives that link her to themes related to nature and its characteristic of circular time and also to the idea of tangible and intangible archives. He focuses his artistic research on delving into the field of collective memory and forgotten (or untold) stories, in addition to using fiction as a tool of meaning.
His artistic vision is framed under the introspective that goes from the inside out, reaching to connect the innermost world with the most plural consciousness. In all his artistic projects, nature is one of the main protagonists, since being a person who was born and has lived most of his life in an environment like Menorca, it is often inevitable to separate from it. Through it he can synthesize memories that are transformed into sound images.
