The Xarxa d’Ateneus Cooperatius celebrates 10 years

The Network of Cooperative Universities (XAC) will hold its annual plenary session on April 10 in Igualada under the theme “Territories that beat – 10 years of Ateneus Cooperatives”a special day that will commemorate the first decade of the Ateneus Cooperatives in Catalonia.

The meeting will bring together promoting entities and participants from the 14 Cooperative Universities, as well as representative entities, local administrations and other agents who have collaborated with the program over the course of these ten years. The objective of the day is to create a meeting space, exchange of experiences and collective reflection on the present and the future challenges of cooperatives and the Social and Solidarity Economy in the territory.

The conclusions of the study will also be presented during the day prepared by the Lanki Institute of Cooperative Studies of the University of Mondragonon the genesis of the Cooperative Athenaeum Network, which analyzes the origin and evolution of the program since its creation.

The plenary will include parallel sectoral conferences dedicated to different strategic areas of the Social Economy: feeding, culture, energy i housing. These spaces will make it possible to share experiences, discuss common challenges and generate new alliances between projects and agents in the territory.

In addition, throughout the day there will also be meeting spaces between the attendees, cultural activities and a cooperative supermarket with products from projects supported by the Athenaeums, which will be opened to coincide with the networking lunch.

The day will close with a performance by Impro Barcelona and music to collectively celebrate these ten years of Ateneus Cooperatius’ career. you can consult the program of the day here.
