The Theater T’s bring the madness of normality to the stage
Humor, madness, family, contradictions and tenderness. These are some of the ingredients ofI won’t cry todaythe new show of Nelson Valente that the Theater T will present this December on the stage of the Goya. A tragicomedy that aims to be one of the highlights of the season.

Coinciding with the festivities and family reunions, comes the story of Llum, who after a month in a psychiatric clinic decides to return home to have dinner with her sisters, Lola and Bibiana. From here, and with the humor that characterizes the company, everything explodes.
A story that knows how to laugh at human miseries and that is clear that those who do what they can are not obliged to do more. I won’t cry today it’s a work that, according to Valente, is designed to spend most of the time laughing, except for the final minutes, when the viewer will wonder what exactly he’s been laughing at.
In a current context that often seems to have gone mad, the author and director treats this seemingly normal everyday life as the great contemporary madness. Valente places supposedly “crazy” characters in supposedly “normal” environments to make the public reflect on the inconsistencies these labels generate. The proposal starts from a personal experience: the years she worked in a mental health center for women in Buenos Aires.

The creation also has a changing scenography Fernando Andujarwhich allows several spaces to be incorporated as the action progresses.
“Working with a company of women like T de Teatre is a luxury”, says the author and director. the actress Marta Perez he explains: “We know each other very well and, despite the time, we still have fun”. He also comments that the title of the work could be perfectly I will laugh today. Humor is a healing tool to process problems and, according to Pérez, “it’s wonderful to deal with the variables of making people laugh: a good text and a mathematical temporal control.”

I won’t cry today is a funny and tender show, where each character exposes their weaknesses and establishes a direct connection with the audience.
