The period for submitting applications for subsidies for the subtitling of audiovisual works is open – News Details


Subsidized works can be short films or feature films of fiction, documentary or animation, as well as television or web documentaries. A single application must be submitted per audiovisual work, regardless of the number of subtitles for which the grant is requested. A maximum of three languages ​​may be subsidized for each work, which must have been completed before the submission of the application.

The eligible expenses are those corresponding to the costs of subtitling the following audiovisual works: translation and subtitling in any format, including the costs of audio description (AD) and descriptive subtitling or for deaf people (SPS) as well as the costs of subtitling the promotional trailer of the audiovisual work.

The minimum subsidized amount per application must be equal to or greater than €300 and the maximum will be €7,000 for feature films and €2,000 for short films. The following are considered eligible costs: translation and subtitling in any format (including audio description costs), as well as subtitling costs for the promotional trailer of the audiovisual work.

Applications can be submitted through the procedure of the electronic headquarters from the Ramon Llull Institute.

They are not the subject of this call:

  • The series and each of its chapters separately, the miniseries and the audiovisual works for the purpose of commercial promotion.
  • Audiovisual works that form part of artistic proposals in the field of visual arts.
  • Audiovisual works framed in the field of training.
  • Subtitling in Catalan or Occitan (in its Aranese variety).
  • Audiovisual works that have previously been subsidized on two occasions in the same line of subsidies.
  • Audiovisual works more than five years old, except for those presented at a retrospective.
