The neighborhood in May Cooperative – Ateneu

The special program 01 × 12: “The neighborhood in May Cooperative” of the podcast Proximity architectureproduced by the Architecture Cooperative The racholawas recorded in the Plaza de Catalunya del Prat de Llobregat as part of the May cooperative. This event is part of the activities of theAteneu Cooperativa del Baix Llobregatan initiative that promotes the social and solidarity economy (ESS) in the region.

During the program, various life -related topics were addressed in the neighborhood and social transformation, such as: the slow life and the importance of neighborhood relations, the impact of predatory tourism in large cities, the evolution of stigmatized neighborhoods, and how this affects the community, the perception of girls on their city and how urban space lives, and housing problems, especially high rents and rents.

In addition, testimonies of neighbors were collected, such as Mario, who shared his experiences and reflections on life in El Prat, emphasizing the importance of the local library and his daily routines that contribute to his integration into the neighborhood.

This episode offers a close and community look at the challenges and opportunities that the neighborhoods face in the context of the social and solidarity economy.
