the poets Julian Zara (Italy), Theresa Sperling (Germany), Jérôme Pinel (France) i Hugo Casals (Catalonia) will share the stage and recite their verses in Catalan, French, German and Italian to offer a sample of contemporary poetry from four European literatures as powerful as they are diverse. the recital Four cardinal points of view: poets from Germany, France, Italy and Catalonia is part of the festival’s programming Barcelona Poetry 2026 which, from May 14 to 21, will fill various spaces in the city with words, music, theater and thought. Some of these scenarios will be the Orchard of the Marès Museum, the Ateneu Barcelonès or the Gardens of the Julio Muñoz Ramonet Foundation.
The recital is organized by the cluster EUNIC Barcelona and Barcelona Poesia 2026, and has the support of the Ramon Llull Institute.
the network EUNICUS (European National Institutes for Culture), which has its headquarters in Brussels, is structured through 140 clusters located in different cities around the world, from where European cultural and artistic projects are promoted in different areas such as literature, music, cinema and the performing arts.
The Barcelona cluster was founded in 2021 by the Goethe-Institut, the Institut Français and the Instituto Italiano di Cultura; its members and associates include the Ramon Llull Institute, the Consulates General of Hungary, Romania and Switzerland in Barcelona, the Representation of the European Commission in Barcelona and the British Council.
