Program
La Mercè is synonymous with fun, but it is also during the Festa Major that we remember those who left us. Thus, the Municipal Band commemorates the ephemeris of some of the most successful Catalan composers and removes emblematic arrangements from their historical archive, such as lyrical printing. Count Arnau’s curseby Eduard Toldrà, and the sardana In the squareby Enric Morera. These works share a program with other titles, such as the obligatory sardana of tible Heaven upby Ricard Viladesau, which premieres in band version and two more scores inspired by traditional music signed by Ricardo Dorado and Josep Vicent Egea. In the words of Master Pascual-Vilaplana, “the sound as an allegory of a people who lives his party”.
