The Avinyó Festival joins the program of strategic residences of the Ramon Llull Institute – Actualitat Detall


The Ramon Llull Institute’s strategic residencies program promotes the participation of Catalan and Balearic creators in residence centers of international prestige, especially those that offer a significant impact in terms of projection, network and creative development. This year the residence of the Avignon Festival “Transmission impossible” is included in the program, which already has three literary centers and one musical.

The residences participating in the 2026 call and the deadlines for submitting applications are:

Transmission Impossible is an immersion, exchange and research project aimed at young artists and performing arts students which takes place within the framework of Avignon Festival. This project of character brings together young talents of the live arts with the support of the with the aim of promoting access to the performing arts professions with a special attention to equal opportunities. The Avignon Festival is a performing arts festival founded by Jean Vilar in 1947 in Avignon, France. It is considered the oldest and most famous in France, and one of those with the most tradition and roots in Europe. In each edition, which is held in July, around 300 performances are scheduled, in addition to round tables, debates and workshops, in around twenty locations.

Marriage is one musical residency traveling in the Carnia region, Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Italy. The three main elements of the project are the house (history, memory), the music (artistic research, expression) and the mountains (the context where relationships develop). Each residency ends with a concert where the musicians present their pieces to the local community.

Château de Lavigny welcome the International Writers’ Residence in Lavigny, Switzerland, managed by the Fondation Heinrich Maria & Jane Ledig-Rowohlt. The building is from the middle of the 19th century, built in the fortress where there used to be a castle. Each stay has a maximum of 6 writers, translators or screenwriters, each with their own private workspace.

Literarisches Colloquium Berlinlocated on the shores of Lake Wannsee, in Berlin, Germany, is one literary residence which welcomes writers, translators and editors from all over the world. The literary institution organizes readings, seminars, literary meetings, and promotes exchange and interaction with foreign institutions, thus ensuring a continuous and rich dissemination of literature beyond linguistic borders.

Art Omi is a non-profit organization located in a rural environment near the town of Ghent, in the state of New York (United States). Dedicated to the management of artistic residencies with the aim of fostering the creative and cultural exchange of international residents from various disciplines, the Art Omi writing residency hosts writers and translators of all literary genres in stays that last between one week and two months.
