The 4th edition of La Febrerada is here


Barcelona is preparing for a new edition of Februarythe great meeting point of the Social and Solidarity Economy (ESS). On Friday February 6 the 4th edition will take place, which will be divided into a morning of reflection and an evening of celebration and vindication.

The meeting: Funding, AI and “neutralizing dehumanization”

The day will start at 9 a.m and will end with a brotherhood lunchall at Bloc4BCN (Carrer de la Constitució, 19, Sants-Montjuïc, 08014 Barcelona). This conference aims to become a space to share challenges, discuss trends and advance the consolidation of the ESS in the city. It also seeks to make visible that the ESS is a growing reality in Barcelona.

During the morning, there will be parallel sessions that will deal with key issues for the future of the sector:
– How do we finance ourselves?
– Hearings and narratives in the time of algorithms.
– AI: Tools and opportunities for the Social Economy
– How do we improve our working conditions?

After a mid-morning break, the participants will meet in the plenary session: ‘Neutralizing dehumanization or how ESS makes us relevant in addressing pending challenges’. The session will address the effects of the rise of hate speech and SSE practices and strategies to make ourselves relevant.

The party: Humor and music open to the city to change everything

The same Friday from 8 p.m, Parallel 62 will become the epicenter of humor, music and the social and solidarity economy with La Febrerada, a party that is more than a party. The star and singer Gloria Ribera she will be the master of ceremonies for a night in which there will be no shortage of laughter, truths and music.

The party will start with a round of monologues by some of the most powerful voices on the scene today: Alba Segarra, Oye Sherman, Indicative and Arnau Garcia. Once the humor is over, the music will take over with a deluxe headliner: the metaphysical pop ofEl Petit de Cal Eril, the collective energy of The ones that were missing and the final session of DJ Trapellawhich will make the room dance until 1:30 am.

La Febrerada will be a space to enjoy and discover that in Barcelona the social and solidarity economy is a reality and has concrete proposals to make our day to day more fair, sustainable and transformative. Entry is free and can be obtained through Tickètic.

This event seeks to bring the social and solidarity economy closer to a younger audience, in a fun and cultural environment.

Strategy #ESSBCN2030

February is registered in theCity Agreement for the Social and Solidarity Economy Strategy in Barcelona 2030which represents the joint commitment between the citizen fabric of the ESS and Barcelona City Council. There are already more than 280 affiliated organizations. Currently, it remains open on accession process for companies, initiatives and organizations interested in joining the strategy and formalizing their participation in this shared governance.
