Stage to transform from co -operatives – Ateneo

The theater can be much more than a show. Within the framework of the social and solidarity economy, scenarios are being opened that bet on theater as a tool for participation, empowerment and social transformation. We are talking about community theater: collective processes of stage creation rooted in the territory, which value the voices of people and connect art, memory and social justice.

Unlike the traditional cultural model, focusing on production and consumption, community theater initiatives promoted by co -operatives place the experience and experience at the center. It is not only about representing a work, but of jointly building a look at the world, sharing experiences and making visible what is often left on the edges.

In many municipalities in the Baix Llobregat there are projects that work with this look: theatrical workshops with young people, stage creation processes with migrants, works made from the experience of functional diversity or proposals that combine historical memory and documentary theater.
