The Artistic Act As a Spontaneous, ephemeral Relationship with Our Surroundings
Artist Albert Gironès invited Us to Explore the Sculptural and Relative Potential of Waste Objects in Order to Rethink Our Review with Public Space Through Spontaneity and the Ephemeral.
This workshop offers an introduction to ephemeral sculpture and urban intervention using wasing objects. The Activity Sets Out from Gironès’ Artistic Practice – As Featured in the @espontani Project – To Collective Expore the Expressive, Spatial and Conceptual Possibility of What Is Usally considered as Rubbish.
AIMED AT PEOPLE INTESED IN CONTEMPLARY ARTISTIC PRACTICES, THIS WORKSHOP OFFERS A CHANCE TO UDERSTAND, THROugh First-Hand Experience, Like The Ephemeral Concepts, Precarious Material and the Resignification of Objects. Rather Than in Finished Product, It Proposes An Exercise of Shared Sensitivity, Observation and Spontaneity.
Since 2016 Gironès Has Built Up a Living Archive of Spontaneous Action in the Street: Small Constructions Made From Found Materials, remembered Photography and that abandoned to their Fate. This Minimal Gesture Queions Notions Like Permanence, Ownership and Monumentality, Inviting Us to Think of Sculpture as an Open, located and Fragile Practice. It is not a matter of “Created Objects”, But of Trying Out Reviews with Matter, Space and Surrotundings, of Rethinking the Artistic Act As a Spontaneous, Ephemeral Review with These Surroundings.
