The Biblioteca de Catalunya will host the conference series “Eulàlia Technical Institute: one hundred years”. These are four talks, which will take place on the 5th, 12th, 19th and 25th of March 2026 in the Sala de la Caritat, at 6.30 pm, on the occasion of the centenary of this educational center.

Also as part of this commemoration, you can see the exhibition “Eulàlia Technical Institute: one hundred years” at Espai Zero, in the Library lobby, from March 5 to April 19.

The Eulàlia Technical Institute, a product of the wide-spread restlessness of the Catalan school in the first third of the 20th century, was conceived as a modern, secular, mixed and Catalan centre. The historical vicissitudes forced it to overcome the onslaughts of war (with the exile of the founders) and to become a bastion of freedom and tolerance under the dictatorship, while leading the pedagogical changes in the society of consumerism, competition and new technologies from the transition.
