Rural secrets and black humor in ‘The Bones of Irish’
Three veterans friends meet again in a village of rural Catalonia to face a forgotten secret for decades. This is the premise ofThe Irish bonesa black comedy that mixes tensions, uncomfortable humor and a deep reflection on the fragility of human relationships. This is a text written by Victor Borràs and directed by Xavier Ricartrecognized with the Quim Masó 2022 prize, which after premiere at the Akademia Theater returns until February 12 at the Poliorama Theater.

“I wanted to write a rural drama where the protagonists were people in the territory,” says Borràs. The dialogues of the work are impregnated with local expressions that provide special authenticity to the plot, which emphasizes actor Ivan Benet: “The text is contemporary, but the richness of the language gives it a unique dimension.”
