Resolution Extraordinary Call for Artistic Research Scholarships Barcelona Create
Ship Ivanow has resolved the call of the Scholarships Barcelona Create – Creation Factories 2025an initiative of the network of creation factories, with the support of the Institute of Culture of Barcelona, aimed at supporting lines of research in the artistic sector.
These scholarships seek to support lines of research in the artistic sector, helping to maintain the cultural impetus of the city and offering resources to develop research and artistic innovation processes. Those projects that are under development of the artistic proposal, prior to the production, have been considered.
Once all the proposals submitted have been evaluated, they have already been selected projects that will be supported to develop research of the two modalities, research and mediation, and an exclusive for resident companies of Nau Ivanow.
The projects selected by the call of the Barcelona Scholarship CREA – Factories of Creation 2025 are:
Modality 1 – Research
“The Corps Cresario, an artistic research from the Disidencia”, a project by Rita Nutel and Karúi López.
Incendiary/rebel/subversive/political bodies carry in whether the possibility of dynamizing/destroying the established social order. It proposes a reflective and contemplative look on other body defining external opinions on our own body, movement and relationship.
Modality 2 – Mediation
“Cultural mediation in the creation factories of Barcelona”, a project by Mailen Fonseca
This project proposes a research focused on the relationship that the Barcelona creation factories have with the community fabric. The proposal invites to reflect on the role of cultural mediation in the centers of creation and its involvement in democratic access to culture.
Exclusive modality CIES resident
“The subject of the game”, a project by Sergio Camacho Rico
The subject of the game proposes an interdisciplinary research that explores the relationship between creativity, play and flow states, with a particular approach to sound improvisations. During the residence at Nau Ivanow, interactive instruments will be designed and open creation spaces will be generated that activate collective creativity.
* For the resolution of the Modality 1 – Research We have had the collaboration of Barby Boustier, who has made a pre -selection of 10 finalist proposals in this category. We also had their support in the drafting of the rules of this call, for which we have opted for a call for exclusively to people who identify with gender, class, ethnic-racial and/or religious dissent experiences, as well as people who are part of the CRIP and/or LGTBIQ+or LGTBIQ groups. This decision is part of a framework of positive discrimination or affirmative action, and responds to a political will to redistribute resources and recognition to those who have historically been excluded from the institutional circuits of the performing arts. It has been fortunate to be able to have his gaze and support when designing the call and evaluating the proposals received.
The scholarships contemplate a financial endowment of € 6000 per project, as well as the accompaniment and monitoring during the process with the team of the Nau Ivanow, and the availability of the spaces of the Nau Ivanow, between July 2025 and February 2026.
From La Nau, we want to congratulate the selected artists and thank the participation of all the people who have presented their proposals. The number and quality of the projects received is a sample of the rich and committed creative moment that lives the current art scene.
