On Tuesday, October 23, we hosted the presentation of the book Essence de Trementina, by Jordi Vendrell, author of other works such as The postman, story on repression during the Civil War in Catalonia; and From back to GodHistory of a chaplain without a vocation. Through a melancholy, romantic and detailed style, Jordi Vendrell shows the lives of a Ramellera woman who decides to take his daughter Andrea for the first time, to learn the profession. History brings us closer to the tradition of turpentine women, who from the eighteenth century until well into the twentieth century, climb roads and paths, selling the peasants the syrups, ointments, elixirs and ointments that they themselves prepared by collecting and cultivating plants with medicinal properties.
