
Poetry, madness and beauty, return ‘Mata me psychosis’
After the good reception last season, Kill me psychosis Return to the Free Arts Center from October 9 to 19. The show, based on the poetic universe of Dolores Michaelis an intense exploration of identity, surveillance and death, and marks the first monologue of the actress Alba Pujolwith dramaturgy ofAlbert Roig and stage movement designed by Lorena Nogal — National Dance 2024 and Dancer of the Company The green.
Directed Lucia of Grecoawarded as a revelation artist at the Critics 2023 Awards, the work invites the viewer to delve into a “cruel, voracious and psychotic, in continuous metamorphosis”. In the words of the director, the show “presents a world subject to a surveillance system that wants to strictly define the parameters of what is human, what is legitimate, of what has a value.”
The theatrical proposal transforms the eponymous book by Dolors Miquel – originally structured into nine episodes – into six stage chapters that combine cruelty and beauty through the idea of the methyicosis or spiritual transformation. On stage, Alba Pujol It gives life to a character who sees her mother turns into sheep and, from this symbolic place, wonders about her role in the world, the cruelty we play and the constant presence of love as a vital force. The actress describes the work as “a poetic imaginary that has come to light the poet that each of us carries inside.”
Kill me psychosis It is presented as a stage poetic prose that maintains the strength of the text of Dolors Miquel without wanting to give a rational explanation. “The show is built from the concept of landscape work, where the text is the root of the whole project,” adds to Greco, who again collaborates with Lorraine Nogal and Cube.lb after Pure passion (2024).
