From the Puppet Festival to Planeta Titella
Since 2025, the festival has started a transformation process aimed at strengthening its identity and expanding its cultural scope. The name change, of Barcelona Puppet Festival a Puppet Planetsymbolizes this qualitative and conceptual leap: a creative universe where puppets become the central axis of an experience that integrates exhibition, participation and dissemination.
This 16th edition maintains the essence of the festival, but incorporates novelties such as a more curated selection of companies -emerging and established, local and international-, new exhibition formats and play spaces that bring a contemporary look to the puppet theatre. This year, also as a novelty, the public will be able to vote for their favorite show. The most valued proposal will receive the trophy for the best show of Planeta Titella 2026, thus incorporating a participatory dimension to the programming.
Workshops, games and gastronomy
Beyond the shows, the venue will enable a children’s area with traditional wooden games and an area of foodtrucks with various gastronomic proposals. Craft workshops related to the world of puppets will also be organized, given by Poble Espanyol artisans who work with materials such as glass, leather or ceramics.
