Pere Almeda’s contract as director of the Ramon Llull Institute ends and thus concludes a four-year mandate at the head of this public institution dedicated to the external projection of Catalan culture.

The Governing Board of the Ramon Llull Institute, made up of the Government of the Generalitat of Catalonia, the Government of the Balearic Islands, the City Council of Barcelona and the City Council of Palma, appreciates the work of Pere Almeda and highlights milestones such as the new orientation and impetus of the institution with a Strategic Plan for the internationalization of Catalan culture 2025-2030.

During Pere Almeda’s leadership, new lines of support for the internationalization of Catalan creation have also been launched, the International Residencies Program has been promoted, new grants have been created for international research in Catalan studies, and the publication of anthologies of Catalan poetry in various European languages ​​and the dissemination of the “Catalan Classics of Political Thought” collection have been promoted. Actions that have favored the continuous growth of the international projection of Catalan culture.

In the coming weeks, it is expected to convene the Governing Board of the Ramon Llull Institute, where all the administrations and entities that are part of the Consortium are present to approve a new direction.
