Open call: The Pink Pavillion Festival in Copenhagen seeks a Catalan playwright – Detail news


From 10 to 12 June, the festival Pink Pavilion Organized by the Blaagalard Teater of Copenhagen Performative readings of recent authorship plays, directed and performed by artists of the Danish and international scene. It also proposes a cultural exchange program with talks and presentations.

Her Beckett Room And the Institut Ramon Llull collaborate this year with the Blaagaard Teater to select a playwright or playwright from Catalonia who participates in the edition of next year from this Dramatic Writing Festival.

The selected playwright or playwright will have to choose a 30-minute fragment to make a staged reading that will translate to the Danish and/or English. The fragment will be reached for four days with a director and a maximum of four actors. The Pink Pavillion festival will acquire the representation rights for the readings and will be responsible for traveling and accommodation costs.

This year’s theme is “Freedom Off …” and mainly refers to the relationship between freedom of expression and totalitarian regimes. The work must deal with this theme and have been previously represented (the readings count). It must have been originally written in Catalan and cannot be more than 10 years old.

Requirements of the application

Applicants must fill in this form before the August 31, 2025 at 11:59 pm With the following information:

  • Name, country and contact information (this data will not be announced in the first round of the evaluation process)
  • Brief description (max. 500 characters) of the work and its previous presentations
  • Fragment (max. 5 pages)
  • CV – Max. 1 page (the resume will not be announced in the first round of evaluation)
