Open Call for Literary Residency at the Château de Lavigny – News


Between 12 and 26 May 2025The Application Journal Will Be open To Take Part in the International Writers’ Residency at the Château de Lavigny in Switzerland. The residence, Managed by the Fondation Heinrich Maria & Jane Ledig-Rwohlt, is Housed in a Mid-19th-Century Building Construced on the Site of a Former Castle. Each residence hosts in Maximum of Six Writers, Translators or Screenwriters, Each with their Own Private Workspace.

This Call is part of the New Non-Competive in-Kind Grant Line For International Residences at Centers with Which the Institut Ramon Llull You have Collaboration Agrement. Thanks to thisgrement, Artists and Authors in the Catalan Artistic and Cultural Sphere May Take Part in Strategic Residences Across All Disciplines. The in-Kind Grant Covers Accommodation, Living Expenses, and the Organization of the Residency. The Château de Lavigny Call is the First to Be Announed This Year.

The Selected Writer May Apply for a Mobility Grant From the Institut Ramon Llull to Receive Support for Travel Expenses.

Applications must be submitted via email to chlavigny@hotmail.com with the following documentation:

  • To Cover Letter in English or French.
  • A description of the project to be carried out hard the residence, in English or french, Between 3 and 5 farmers.
  • An Excelpt From to Published or Unclished Work (in Catalan and translated into English or french), Between 5 and 10 farming.
  • To List of Publications and a CV in English or French.

To Jury Composed of Representatives of the Foundation Will Select the Residents According to the Following Criteria:

  • Candidates Must have at LEAST ORIGINAL LITERARY WORK PUBLISHED IN CATALAN UNDER THEIR AUTHORSHIP, IN ONE OF THE FOLLOWING GENRES: FICTION, POETRY, THEATER, NON-FICTION, AND CHILDREN’S ORDIC ITERURE
  • The Relationship of the Project to the Host Institution’s Lines of Work. Considering Will Be Given to Alignment with the Residency Center’s Creative Priorities, Linguistic Fluency and Capacity to Integrated With Other Residents, Willingness to Exchange and Interact With Other Residents and Guests, and Reading to Take Part in Follow-up Activities.
  • The relevance, Interest, and Quality of the Proposal Project. Considering Will Be Given to the Project Strength and Feasibility, The Themes Adressed, and the Quality of the Writing.
  • The Applicant’s Background or Experience. Considering Will Be Given to Past Publications, Studies, and Year Honor Received.
