Nau Ivanow presents a new residency program that puts research and processes at the center of creation
Nau Ivanow has presented his new residency programa proposal that reinforces a view that understands artistic creation as a living process, open and inseparable from critical thinking and research.
This new frame comes at a significant time for the equipment, coinciding with 15 years of the residency program15 years being part of the Network of Creation Factories of Barcelona and 20 years of management of the Sagrera Foundation. This new stage is proposed after a period of review and updating of the model, with the aim of generating more sustainable conditions, situated and consistent with the challenges of the contemporary context.
The new program is aimed at creators, companies, researchers and cultural management professionals linked to the living arts, and is designed to host processes at different stages of development. With a plural structure of modalities, it combines time, spaces, financial support, professional support and alliances with other agents in the sector.
The program is made up of 7 types of residences
A total of 7 types of residences are launched that aim to guarantee time and space for research without production pressure, favoring risk, trial and non-linear processes.
the residences ofroom researchaimed at early stage projects that need space and time to explore; the residences for technical and scenographic researcha, focused on the search for material languages and scenic devices; and the hybrid theoretical research residencies (Beques Crea), which focus on thinking, conceptualization and the generation of knowledge. The deadline to submit projects for these three modalities is from April 29 to May 15, 2026.
The program also incorporates long-distance lines, such as the two-year residencies for a companies under 35 years oldas well as specific formats aimed at collaboration and networking, such as Co–Co–Co residencesor the practice and situated managementwhich explore new forms of exchange, coexistence and collective learning. The call for these types of residences will be launched throughout 2026, 2027 and 2028.
