L’Inevitable and Mila, winners of the Lluís Carulla Award 2024

Last Tuesday, November 19, the delivery of Lluís Carulla Awards 2024 at IDEAL, Center for Digital Arts. These biennial awards, given by the Carulla Foundation, highlight innovative cultural projects that promote the transformation and improvement of our society. The big star of the night was l’Inevitable, the Salt Community Arts Festivalwho received the prize for the best project and a grant of €60,000. This initiative promotes local community art with a self-managed team made up of citizens. In addition, the Inevitable aims to develop a methodology to replicate the festival in other locations in Catalonia. On the other hand, Mila won the prize for the best idea i €25,000 to finance the project. This proposal is a factory of narrative talent that aims to promote young artists from diverse social origins in the market. For two years, both winners will receive cultural and business support from the Carulla, Netmentora and Self-Employment Foundation.

At the delivery gala prominent figures from the cultural and social world participated, such as journalists Carolina Rosich and Bea Duodu; the general director of Cultural Promotion and Libraries of the Generalitat, Xavier Fina; the director of the Carulla Foundation, Marta Esteve, and its president, Nicolau Brossa. In addition, the ceremony featured performances by the Musical Choir and Catalunya Freestyle. In total, nearly 200 people attended the Transforming Culture Night.

The Lluís Carulla 2024 Awards have stood out for the quality and diversity of the proposals presented. Out of a total of 148 nominations, only 4 projects and 5 cultural ideas became reality finalists. One of the novelties of this year’s edition has been the incorporation of the Academy and the Incubation Phase in the business program of the awards. Thus, although only two proposals have won the Wings of Transformation, all finalists have had the opportunity to develop and accelerate their projects under the supervision of the Carulla Foundation.

Noves Narratives wins the Francesc Candel Award

The night of transformative culture has also hosted the delivery of the Francis Award candleintended for artistic and cultural projects that promote the inclusion of people of migrant origin in Catalan society. The award, endowed with €15,000he took it away New Narratives, of Alfred Tapscott. This proposal worksmainly, to micro towns of Catalonia, and has the objective ofto empower young people of middle migrant originbetween music, theater and visual art.
