Laia Junquera and Albert Marsà, at the helm of MTK Space, an audiovisual trench – Ateneo
In an interview to Catalunya RàdioLaia Junquera and Albert Marsà presented MTK SPACEa cooperative project born of the need to create audiovisual content from a collective, committed and critical approach. The project works as an “audiovisual trench”, where production moves away from conventional models and is committed to social values, economic sustainability and self -management.
MTK Space is organized horizontally, without hierarchies, with a equitable redistribution of tasks and salaries. Junquera and Marsà claim a model where creative work is not precarious, and where visual creation also serves as a tool for social transformation. Its services range from production to post -production, with a clear commitment to collaboration with other independent initiatives.
The project is also a space for support between professionals, and a response to the conditions of precariousness that often define the cultural sector. With MTK Space, its promoters want to build a fairer, critical and sustainable audiovisual future.
