Next Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at 6 p.m., the listening conference “Phonos 50 years” will take place in the Sala de la Caritat of the Library of Catalonia, by Andrés Lewin-Richter, industrial engineer and composer specialized in electroacoustic music.
In 1974, Andrés Lewin-Richter, Josep Maria Mestres Quadreny and Lluís Callejo founded the Phonos Electroacoustic Music Studio, an open space where composers and researchers who share an interest in music and technology come together.
In this talk, Lewin-Richter will explain the reasons why Phonos was created, the operation of the laboratory, the environment and the fruits it bore. Likewise, some instruments will be shown, accompanied by musical examples made by various composers over the years. The conference will be given in Spanish.
The event is part of the exhibition that, with the same name, “Phonos 50 years”, can be visited in the lobby of the Biblioteca de Catalunya from November 25, 2025 to January 17, 2026.
Admission is free with limited capacity.
The event can also be followed by streaming Youtube channel of the Library of Catalonia.
