synopsis:
Three sisters with very different characters, daughters of a marriage of actors, maintain a close relationship with each other. The eldest, Hannah, who has a stronger character, is married to a rich businessman and her life seems balanced, perfect. Successful actress, wife and exemplary mother, she has become the center of gravity of the whole family. Holly, the second, sensitive and unstable, dreams of being an actress. Lee, the little one, is an ex-alcoholic who lives in a loft in Soho with a minimalist painter much older than her. Much less fortunate than Hannah, the sisters often turn to her when they need advice or have financial problems. But this situation begins to falter when Elliot, Hannah’s husband, falls in love with one of his wife’s sisters.
The review says:
“One of Woody’s best; a very intelligent and ingenious comedy with a magical script and perfect interpretations of well-crafted characters (…) » David Parkinson: Empire
