With Silvia NoguerHead of Conservation and Restoration, We Will Explore the Different Strategies for Preserving Works Creed with Unusual Or Ephemeral Materials, From Work on paper to Multimedia installations.
We will find out the criteria that guide the processes of preventive conservation and restoration of contemporary art world, and discuss the limits of intervention on pieces intended by the artist to become obsolete or to impatrate as part of the creative process. This Activity Will Enable Us To Learn About Specific Houses of Works in the Macba Collection required Special intervention, as well as the dilemmas faed by the Team in makeing Sure Work Is Interpreted Prop. Graduate in Fine Arts, Specialized in Restoration, From the University of Barcelona. Trained in the Conservation-Restoration of Mural Paintings and Preventive Conservation at the International Center for the Study of the Preservation and Restoration of Cultural Property (ICCROM) and in the Restoration of Panel Paintings at the Getty Conservation Institute. At the end of the eighties, she beganing for artists, galleries and contemporary art collectors, and became part of the Spanish working group on Conservation and Restoration of Contemporary Art.
She has worked for Several Institutions and Since 1995 She is the Head of the Conservation-Restoration Department at MACBA. She has Alo participated in projects Such as inside installations: Preservation and presentation of Installation Art and Practicals of Contemporary Art: The Future, Bush Promoted by The International Network for the Conservation of Contemporary Art (INCCA). Since 2020, she has been teachers on Preventive Conservation of Heritage Assets with the Framework of the University Master’s Degree in Cultural Management, and in the subject Management and Curating of Artistic Exhibitions and Heritage Assets of the Faculty of Humanities of the International University of Catalonia.
